For their wedding, Emily and Alex chose a setting rich with meaning: Kalina Farm, Emily’s family home in Red Hook, New York. More than a beautiful backdrop, the property is woven into her family’s history. Emily’s parents were married there, and just months earlier, her brother celebrated his own wedding on the 150-acre Hudson Valley farm. This venue layered the landscape with memories, tradition, and that rare sense of continuity. With so many guests traveling in, Emily and Alex leaned into a true wedding weekend. They anchored the experience with pre- and post-wedding gatherings in Rhinebeck, where friends and family stayed, making the celebration feel intimate and communal.

Though the date fell in early October, Emily envisioned the wedding as a nod to late summer, the last golden stretch of the season. From the menu selections to the color palette and décor, each choice carried that subtle “summer ending” mood: warm, sun-washed, and inviting, with nature as the inspiration.
