It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since one of the most gorgeous weddings we’ve ever produced. We had the immense honor of planning and executing Emily and Greg Avsyuk’s stunning magical woodland wedding at Antrim Streamside last year, on October 7th, 2023. From the moment we met them, we knew that their love story and vision for their wedding were truly unique. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Antrim Streamside in the Catskill Mountains—a venue that perfectly complemented their desire for an intimate, nature-inspired celebration. We can’t wait to celebrate them here on the blog today!
One year later, we’re reflecting on the special details and moments that made their wedding weekend so unforgettable. Working with Emily and Greg was a joy, and we are beyond proud of what we created together. It was an honor to have brought their woodland dream to life in the most magical way.
Before we share photos (we know that’s what you’re here for!), here’s what they had to say about the planning process:
Our favorite part of the planning process was getting to make every single detail intentional. We went into the planning process with a general idea of what we envisioned for our wedding (intimate, romantic, woodland), but actually seeing our ideas come to life, down to the tiniest detail, was so exciting! Going from having general ideas and a loose vision in our heads of what we wanted and then slowly watching an entire magical weekend get created was so amazing, and definitely our favorite p art. We’re so extremely grateful for all our vendors, who all listened to our wild assortment of loose ideas and random thoughts and somehow made them into a fully realized, thoughtful, boho fairytale wedding.
The Beginning of a Love Story
Emily and Greg’s love story began online, like so many modern couples. After matching on Hinge, their first date was meant to be short and sweet, but their connection was undeniable. What began as coffee and a trip to the Long Island Aquarium turned into an entire day together—dinner, a sunset walk by the water, and stargazing on the beach. From that first magical date, they knew they had found something truly special. We’re so glad they did!
Greg proposed during a trip to Woodstock, a place that held many cherished memories for them. While hiking Rand’s View, the couple emerged from the forest into a beautiful meadow with sweeping views. It was there, surrounded by nature, that Greg got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
An Intimate Rehearsal Dinner
The day before their wedding, Emily and Greg chose to share a private and intimate rehearsal dinner in the rustic barn at Antrim Streamside. Instead of the traditional rehearsal gathering, the couple opted for a dinner just for the two of them, allowing them to connect and reflect on their journey. The table, set for two, was beautifully adorned with candles, fall-inspired florals, and natural elements that set the tone for the woodland theme.
Surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight and the quiet atmosphere of the venue, they enjoyed their last evening before the wedding in a way that was deeply personal, setting the stage for their magical woodland weekend.
The Ceremony: A Woodland Wedding Fairytale
Emily and Greg’s woodland wedding at Antrim Streamside began with a ceremony that felt like something out of a storybook. The couple exchanged vows beneath a rustic wooden arch draped with autumn flowers and greenery, perfectly blending with the vibrant fall foliage surrounding them. The outdoor space, nestled next to the stream, offered a breathtaking backdrop for this intimate gathering of just 20 guests. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue to complement Emily and Greg’s vision than Antrim Streamside. Nestled in the Catskill Mountains, this stunning venue, with its natural beauty felt like something straight out of a fairytale.
The Wedding Reception
As the sun set, the celebration continued with a beautiful reception inside Antrim Streamside’s main event space. The woodland theme carried into the reception, where the couple’s vision of nature creeping into the venue came to life. The tablescape was adorned with moss, rustic fall flowers, small woodland creatures and elegant place settings. We designed that way intentionally to reflect the colors and textures of the surrounding forest. Floral arrangements around the fireplace added warmth and charm to the intimate space. Additionally, the centerpiece of the evening was their stunning cake, topped with adorable custom figurines of the couple from their engagement. Because of the smaller guest list, everyone in the room was incredible close to Emily and Gregg. It was incredibly special watching them spend quality time with everyone they love.
As the night went on, guests were treated to delightful surprises throughout the evening, including a ‘dancing shoes’ station, offering comfortable footwear so everyone could enjoy the dance floor. This is always a great idea if you picture your wedding being complete with a full dance floor. Emily and Greg’s first dance was filled with joy, and as the night continued, the couple laughed and danced with their loved ones under the soft glow of the stars. We created a starry sky in the space as part of Emily’s vision was to dance under the stars so when rain came into the forecast we secured a lighting company to create that moment inside the space.

From the intimate rehearsal dinner to the heartfelt ceremony and joyful reception, every moment brimmed with thoughtful, personal touches. Our wedding weekend was ever ything we dreamed of, and more, and we’re so thankful for our incredible team who made those dreams a reality. The energy and magic in the air was absolutely blissful, and we love reminiscing and reliving our wedding weekend through pictures, videos, and simply, our memories. Our wedding weekend was intimate, with a small guest count of just 22, but filled with such a palpable amount of love and that’s exactly what we wanted; it was also filled with character, from the woodland figurines scattered throughout our tablescape, to the vintage telephone guestbook. Your wedding should feel like you, and our wedding was truly the most perfect depiction of us, and a beautiful celebration of our love story. It’s crazy that it’s almost been a year since the most incredible day of our lives, and we’re so excited to celebrate our anniversary back at Antrim Streamside, where we said “I Do”, and started the most beautiful life together. Angela did an AMAZING job hearing our ideas and bringing them to life. Just the work it takes to translate someone else’s vision into something real, to understand our vision and us a couple, to communicate that vision, clearly, to a wide collection of vendors, coordinate everything, plan multiple scenarios (it rained on our wedding day but there was no stress because Angela had thought of several contingencies), all while making us feel like the most special people in the world, is absolutely incredible. Me and Greg are so so thankful for Angela and her team.
